Hallo Opa - Liebe Mirjam

An intimate story of great closeness and attentiveness. Fourteen-year-old Mirjam regularly writes emails to her grandpa. She tells him about friends who have disappointed her, arguments with her parents, and her recent school change. Grandpa replies and shares what it was like for him to find the right friends in the post-war era. He gives his granddaughter advice and assures her that the guest bed is always ready for her. Mirjam learns from her grandpa what it feels like to grow old and to have the sense that everything might be for the last time. One day, he no longer replies to Mirjam. Never again.
