Even the most precise knowledge of the legal texts is not sufficient for legal work. The unavoidable distance between the concrete case on the one hand and the generally abstract norms on the other makes interpretation unavoidable. This requires an occasionally quite elaborate methodological approach. Information on this will be given here. The main focus is on the interpretation of legal norms, on working with (possibly) incomplete or excessive regulations and on working with precedents, i.e. with previous jurisprudence on the new legal question. The book also deals with the peculiarities of finding law in conformity with European law, including its limits.
The book is aimed at students of law as well as practising lawyers.
