The Concept: The "Basic Course in Public Law" is structured in two volumes. The first volume covers the fundamentals of public law and the law of state organization, while the present second volume focuses on fundamental rights. It provides the reader with an initial access to the legal field of fundamental rights and lays a foundation for further study. An overload of details and case law content is deliberately avoided. The presentations are limited to the essential legal questions as required by students in the performance assessments to be completed in the early semesters. Extensive general discussions are minimized to direct attention from the outset to specific legal content. Important and challenging fundamental rights examinations are illustrated using example cases, ensuring a clear structuring of the subsumption steps in their resolution. The "Basic Course in Public Law" is primarily aimed at students in their early semesters who wish to familiarize themselves with the constitutional and administrative law of the Federal Republic of Germany. However, due to the streamlined content and the selection of primarily exam-relevant questions, it is also recommended for exam candidates who wish to quickly refresh their existing knowledge. Further literature and case law references are provided thoughtfully to enable targeted deepening of the subject.
