The English edition of the book "... trotzdem Ja zum Leben sagen" by Viktor E. Frankl was published in 1959 under the title "Man's Search for Meaning." To introduce the concepts of logotherapy to his Anglo-Saxon readers, Frankl added a chapter titled "Basic Concepts of Logotherapy" in 1962, which he later rephrased with the less dry title "Logotherapy in a Nutshell." This concise and authentic summary of Frankl's meaning- and resource-oriented psychotherapeutic approach has not previously been available in a German version. This book fills that gap. A counterpart to the outline of logotherapy that was "back-translated" from English is the essay "Zur geistigen Problematik der Psychotherapie," which was published in a German-language professional journal in 1938. This was the first publication in which Frankl defined the concepts.
