The proven three-volume work presents the fundamentals of electrical engineering comprehensively and systematically. It aims to serve as a textbook for students and as a guide and reference work for practitioners.

This first volume addresses stationary processes in electrical circuits as well as in electrical and magnetic fields. It takes into account that the mathematical knowledge of students gradually increases. Therefore, the authors begin with electric current in conductors rather than with the electrostatic field. Time-dependent processes in electrical and magnetic fields, as well as in networks, are described in Volume 2. Volume 3 contains a supplementary and advanced collection of exercises.

The didactically refined presentation of the extensive material, with learning objectives, worked examples, practice problems with solutions, and control questions, provides students with optimal learning aids and conveys a solid knowledge foundation. Important technical terms are also provided in English. The constant reference to practical applications from various fields of electrical engineering is intended to enhance students' motivation.

It also demonstrates how mathematical problems can be solved using the MATLAB program. For the analysis of electrical circuits, the Micro-Cap program is utilized.
