Study paper from 2021 in the field of Rhetoric, Phonetics, and Speech Science, grade: 1, course: Rhetoric, language: German.

Abstract: This analysis of Greta Thunberg's speech before the European Parliament in Stockholm, presented on April 16, 2019, aims to examine the impact of the speech on the audience as well as the factors that contribute to its success. Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg was born in 2003 in Stockholm and, at 18 years old, is one of the youngest speakers of the 21st century. This fact is often used as a point of criticism against Thunberg. Additionally, the Asperger syndrome diagnosed in Thunberg is frequently used against her as a speaker. Thunberg's core position is that active climate protection is largely ignored by both politics and society, which will subsequently lead to massive and unstoppable consequences of climate change.
