Gotteslob. Katholisches Gebet- und Gesangbuch. Leder schwarz Goldschnitt - Diözese Würzburg

After a preparation period of nearly ten years, a completely redesigned prayer and hymn book has been created. It contains, like the previous Gotteslob, a so-called core section that is the same for all dioceses, and a local section that includes texts, songs, refrains, etc., which are considered particularly important in each respective diocese. The design of the book changes significantly: the cover features a graphic element, and the interior has been designed in two colors, similar to the Schott missals. As before, there will be a standard edition and a large print edition.

Bishop Friedhelm Hofmann of Würzburg, chairman of the subcommittee for the Common Prayer and Hymn Book of the German Bishops' Conference, stated: "One could describe the book as a kind of provisions package for the life of faith. It offers concrete suggestions for personal and communal prayer at home and makes a rich selection of important prayers and songs—both old and new—accessible." The Gotteslob will be a steadfast companion throughout the celebration of the liturgy.

The new Gotteslob will be introduced in the parishes on the first Sunday of Advent 2013.
