Glass lock

Jeannette Walls is a happy child.

She has a father who goes demon hunting with her, explains physics, and brings down the stars from the sky. She gladly accepts going to bed sometimes with an empty stomach, enduring her egomaniacal artist mother, or moving to a new home in the dead of night. However, as the years go by, the social conditions worsen, her father's sayings become more stale, and the web of lies spun by her parents becomes as fragile as the glass castle her father had promised to build for years.
