As diverse as the forms of Bertram Reinecke's prose pieces are - speech, letter, research report, epilogue - they all have one thing in common: their authors attempt to find supposedly secure ground on the shaky ground of reality in the voltes of their rhetoric. Instead of simple and-then-and-then sequences that unroll as if on armored tracks, they present world views that are under such tension that they force their protagonists to develop counter-designs. No matter how much she addresses a counterpart: her speech turns into an intimate self-narrative that is always in danger of undermining itself through its own positings. Every justification becomes an abyss.
