Geschichte des Weinbaus in Mainfranken

From the planting of the first Silvaner vines in Franconia to the history of individual wineries and the evolution of marketing strategies, the topics covered in this multifaceted portrayal of viticulture in Mainfranken are diverse. More specific subjects, such as the Jewish wine trade in Kitzingen and wine-specific architecture, also find their place alongside the history of Franconian wine royalty. Overall, the volume provides a comprehensive overview of a significant German wine region, enriched by numerous previously unpublished images. The publication was created between 2019 and 2021 as part of a senior seminar at the Matthias-Grünewald-Gymnasium in Würzburg. During this time, twelve students engaged intensively with the history of viticulture in Mainfranken, and their seminar papers are compiled in this comprehensive documentation.
