In the historiography of social work, images still play a subordinate role. However, the history of social work can not only be illustrated with images but also told through them—in an incredibly exciting and entertaining way. Knowledge about the origins and development of social work is vividly conveyed in the comic. We discover its philosophical roots, which can be found in the astonishing ability of humans to cooperate, to provide mutual help and support. However, the focus is primarily on the historical achievements of social work: from medieval poor relief to the economization of social services in the present. The comic does not shy away from the problems, conflicts, and points of contention that arise in discussions about social work, both methodologically and content-wise.
