Product details
Hip fractures are one of the most common diseases in older people and often result in a permanent need for care. The aim of geriatric rehabilitation following hospitalisation is to avoid a residual need for care, which leads to a near doubling of the costs incurred as a result of the fracture if the patient has to be discharged to a nursing home after rehabilitation. In order to be able to prognostically assess the possible success of geriatric rehabilitation, the functional deficits of the patients were measured before and after rehabilitation and, in particular, the possible influence of existing dementia, depression and comorbidity was determined.
