Geometry 1 is the first volume of the teaching material from the Swiss Mathematics Commission (DMK). Together with a second volume, it covers the content for geometry at the high school level. The teaching material is compliant with the Lehrplan 21. This first volume includes the curriculum for lower secondary education and seamlessly connects to the 6th grade of primary school. For cantons with a reduced curriculum in primary education, preparatory tasks and solutions are now available. A variety of problem situations, working methods, and solution strategies are at the center of the task collection. Each chapter contains mixed and advanced tasks as well as numerical solutions to reinforce learning and provide a range of challenging questions. A separate teacher's guide with solutions, comments, and brief theory is available. This includes worksheets for construction tasks as a copy template. Overview of contents: Fundamentals of Geometry: Introduction, basic concepts and constructions, point sets. Geometric Transformations: Axis symmetry and line reflections, point symmetry and reflections, rotational symmetry and rotations, translations. Congruence of Figures: Congruence and congruence theorems, special lines and points in triangles, triangle and quadrilateral constructions. Area and Volume Calculation: Length, area, and volume measures, rectangles and parallelograms, triangles, trapezoids, and kites, area transformation and division, surface area and volume. The theorem group in right triangles: Pythagorean theorem, altitude and leg theorems. The Circle: Chords, secants, and tangents, segments and angles in the circle, circumference and area.
