The inn is one of the great achievements of human civilization: the traveler feels just as at home here as the local resident. This book guides you to fifty inns whose guest rooms have been preserved in their original state. Unlike typical restaurant and pub guides, it primarily serves as a guide to dining spaces. This book, published by the Bavarian Chief Conservator Mathias Pfeil, follows the highly successful title "Enjoyment with History: Dining in Bavarian Monuments – Inns, Taverns, and Wine Rooms," which made it onto the Focus bestseller list in 2009. This time, however, the selection focuses on the historical inn culture in Upper Bavaria.
