This volume contains three unpublished film drafts: The Sabotaged Crime, The Occasional Work of a Slave, Three Women / In the Swamp / Hunger for Meaning (excerpt printed), as well as the text list of the film The Occasional Work of a Slave. It discusses the individual steps in deviating from the script, which is essential for the working method of independent auteur cinema. Following this are comments on the realistic method. The interest in realism has its roots in protest, which means a fundamentally anti-realist stance of human sensibility. Dealing with such an antagonistic concept of reality requires an analytical method that is inherent in the organization of the senses themselves, as well as in the formal laws of reality. The theses do not refer to the individual film but to film work as a whole. One should not firmly believe in the opposition between the realistic method and the entertainment interests of cinema audiences.
