Swiss money laundering regulation, particularly the Money Laundering Act (GwG), is becoming increasingly significant and dynamic in practice. As a cross-cutting regulation, it is equally relevant for all financial intermediaries. Furthermore, the GwG is increasingly encompassing areas of economic life that are only marginally related to the traditional financial sector. The drivers of these developments are, on one hand, ever-stricter international standards, and on the other hand, innovations in the financial industry that occasionally compel lawmakers to adapt the rules of money laundering prevention to the latest developments. This work, authored by recognized experts from academia and practice, aims to contribute to making the complex subject of money laundering regulation accessible in a practical manner.
