Spiritual leadership is one of the theological words of hope of our days. With this term is connected the hope that the church finds its way back to the real thing, that it exercises and experiences spiritual leadership. But what is spiritual leadership? How and by whom does it happen? The theory of spiritual leadership presented here is a model for understanding and shaping leadership processes spiritually, and an instrument for improving leadership and leadership in church and congregation. The authors bring the openness to the Spirit of God and the tools of good, philanthropic leadership into a constructive relationship with one another. They gain concrete suggestions for spiritual leadership in church and congregation from the knowledge of biblical-theologically witnessed leadership by the Spirit. They also identify different types of management, such as community-building, directional or insightful.
