Petra von Gemünden has set important milestones in her theological work for the exploration and description of emotions in New Testament studies. The articles in this festschrift continue her significant impulses and focus on emotions in texts and themes from the Hebrew Bible (Gen 2:4b–3; Jer 15; 17; 20), early Jewish literature (4Macc and Philo), the New Testament (Jesus' discourse on God's love; fear in Mk 4:35–41 and 14:32–42; emotions in the context of sowing and reaping), as well as in religious psychological (fear in the relationship with God) and systematic theological contexts (Rudolf Otto; faith as trust). The authors are theological companions, colleagues, and students of Petra von Gemünden, who wish to honor an outstanding theologian with their contributions.
