Gefüge-Eigenschaftsrelationen dünnwandig erstarrter Eisenlegierungen

This dissertation addresses the microstructure formation of thin-walled cast steel alloys from different alloy groups and their impact on mechanical and technological properties. In the experimental section, steel cast alloys are melted with variations in chemical composition and cast into quartz sand molds to create test specimens with wall thicknesses ranging from four to six millimeters. The resulting sample material is examined in both the as-cast condition and after material-specific heat treatments. The relationships between chemical composition, microstructural morphology, and mechanical-technological properties are quantitatively presented. Additionally, the casting and solidification process of a highly alloyed chromium-nickel steel casting material is simulated. The results are compared with the experimentally determined data, and the adequacy of the simulation is assessed. The applicability of the simulation methods used for thin-walled steel cast parts is demonstrated.
