Since the age of five, I have been writing down what touches, occupies, and moves me. Everything that felt too big in my head, too heavy in my stomach, or too dark for my heart flowed like a small river from my hand onto paper. It is my outlet, my processing strategy, and my way of grounding myself. I do not reflect or edit after I have written a piece. Thus, texts are created that may not follow conventional rhymes or a specific pattern but instead follow my thoughts freely. I love melancholy and depth. I appreciate the edges of everyday life, authentic people, and when they openly share their emotional experiences. And yes, I love my own crazy life, every depressive episode and the feeling of losing myself in it, every escape and later recognizing the reasons behind it, every tiny moment of happiness, the hypersensitivity, the awareness, the dramas, but above all, the freedom, the courage, and the self-love to always do what I want at that moment. Otherwise, this book would not exist. I have mostly let myself be carried away by the voice of my inner self. Accordingly, I have often lost my way and, in doing so, discovered the worlds outside and within me. In this second volume of poetry, you will find works primarily created between 2018 and 2021, marked by new beginnings and the reclaiming of the past, in search of the self, as well as its hiding and discovering. Lockdown moments and knockout days, but also a piece or two of childhood, youth, and adulthood find space between the lines. And then there is the transience, the pain and death, the holding on, the letting go, and the breathing in between.
