Product details
The life of Garcia Lorca, who was born in 1898 in the Andalusian province of Granada and murdered in 1936, caused a stir and aroused interest before any accurate memory of it was to be erased in the decades of Franco's reign. Lorca was already a figure of great charisma at a young age. His multifaceted talent could not remain in silence, searching for other forms of expression beyond poetry and theatre. Thus he was an excellent piano player, played the guitar and drew. Lorca has been called a total artist; he wanted to measure the truth and liveliness of what he created by the direct public reaction. The present volume contains poems selected and transcribed by Enrique Beck, among others from the collections Gedichtbuch, Erste Lieder and Diwan des Tamarit.
