Lake Garda has been one of our most popular holiday destinations since Goethe's time. It is all the more surprising that none of the currently available travel guides provide an overview of nature and cultural historical excursions around the lake. This richly illustrated book, in which the author has compiled 30 years of experiences at Lake Garda, fills this gap. It encourages readers to embark on their own hikes by describing tours around the lake that are of interest due to their botanical, entomological, geological, and cultural historical features. The majority of the hikes, which are not particularly demanding in terms of physical fitness, can be easily followed by any nature lover with the help of detailed maps. Another chapter is dedicated to the art objects that can be admired around the lake. It even includes information about the writers and poets who have visited Lacus Benacus over the centuries.
