Three million highly gifted adults live in Germany. Many are unsure about their special abilities and feel "different" in a vague way. The first publication specifically for highly gifted adults facilitates the process of identity formation. Being a highly gifted person could be so wonderful: school and studies pose no problem, and social advancement is assured. However, for many highly gifted adults, reality looks somewhat different. They are uncertain about their special talent, have never been nurtured, and feel vaguely dissatisfied, often tense, and sometimes depressed when they are unable to utilize their gifts. Friendships and social contacts can be challenging. Andrea Brackmann, a psychotherapist and specialist in the field, allows highly gifted adults to speak for themselves.
