Product details

The book aims to reconstruct the research methodology of a systematic metaphor analysis as a method of qualitative research in its logic. The linguistic metaphor theory proposed by Lakoff and Johnson targets everyday thought patterns and has therefore generated significant resonance in the social sciences within the Anglo-Saxon world. This volume further develops it as a qualitative research procedure and as a specific hermeneutic. Its core concept, the "metaphorical concept," is compared in its scope to terms such as interpretive patterns, habitus, tacit knowledge, social representations, and discourse. It is followed by an overview of previous studies in the social sciences and a detailed methodological proposal.
