Internal and inter-company production processes are characterized by a high complexity of planning and control. Logistical and manufacturing-related disruptions are ubiquitous and negatively impact the strategic success factors of quality, time, and cost. Holm Fischäder is developing a methodology that allows for the analysis of the effects of disruptions on order processing. In specific disruption situations, it can be determined to what extent the effects of disruptions can be absorbed within a particular area of a network, whether they affect more than one production area, and what adjustment measures can be taken to transition the system with minimal effort from the disrupted state back to normal operations.
