The teaching resource "The Spelling Detectives" was developed by Nicole Alder, Gabi Höhn, and Cécile Niederer-Ott in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Kurt Meiers. It is aimed at students in grades 1 to 3 and supports the reading learning process through targeted strategies in the area of spelling. The book offers a practical approach that enables educators to consider the individual needs of learners. Central elements of the resource include 256 colorful word cards that help children recognize orthographic peculiarities and build a fundamental understanding of spelling. Additionally, the teaching resource promotes self-directed learning by encouraging students to create a personal card file with words from various topics. A 52-page accompanying booklet provides additional suggestions for practical implementation in the classroom and for adapting the materials to the different learning levels of the children.
