Product details
This work deals with the theory and practice of modern functional programming. However, the authors do not only consider what is feasible with the languages implemented today, such as HASKELL, OPAL, ML, etc., but also point to current developments. On the one hand, advanced programming techniques are presented, such as the use of infinite data structures, parsers as higher order functions, approximation algorithms, solving equation systems, etc. On the other hand, language concepts are also discussed, such as a systematic form of modularisation or particularly expressive and flexible forms of typification. Special emphasis is generally placed on the integration of different paradigms, such as the connection with concepts of object-oriented, concurrent or constraint-based programming. I.
