In general, this thesis develops a coherent, descriptive, transversal, and non-experimental (non-probabilistic) research approach. The aim is to analyze teachers' perceptions of leadership and school management by the principals of high schools and secondary schools in the northwest of Guanajuato. A dichotomy that arises from the results undoubtedly concerns the vision formulated by the schools, where students are at the center, and the identification of their needs, as these two points have the highest mean values of 3.90 and 3.92, respectively. In practice, it looks as follows: student learning is not a priority (3.45), teachers do not reflect on the feedback from principals or it does not exist (2.80), principals sometimes give advice to teachers (3.01), results are rarely used to evaluate educational goals (3.12), and finally, teachers are sometimes accompanied in their planning (2.80).
