In the face of an increasingly complex leadership environment characterised by growing uncertainty, team leaders have a growing need for orientation aids and models that are suitable for (re)acquiring the ability to act. Leading under uncertainty is still defined as a personal problem. Nadine Sukowski applies the narrative method known from therapeutic biography work to leadership situations. How team leaders establish their ability to act and provide orientation to their employees in the experience of uncertainty is described on the basis of four distinguishable strategies. The focus is on whether or not team leaders endanger their credibility with their behaviour. The author thus offers a variety of impulses for the targeted qualification of team leaders.
