The world seems out of joint. Extreme storms, heat waves, new dangers to human health: climate change and the Corona pandemic are consequences of mankind's reckless treatment of nature. In addition, there are tendencies towards social division and ever new international trouble spots. Why do we not see any departure for the preservation of the world, although we know about the abyss towards which we are heading? We have stopped feeling what the world feels, according to the diagnosis of the doctor, psychiatrist and neuroscientist Joachim Bauer. Humans and nature have become alienated from each other. Civilisation and culture are achievements that no one can want to get behind. Joachim Bauer's thesis: for the preservation of our world, the restoration of an empathic relationship with our natural environment is imperative. Because people can only save what they love.
