Friedrich Nietzsche

When I became acquainted with the works of Friedrich Nietzsche six years ago, I already had ideas formed within me that were similar to his. Independently of him and through different paths than he took, I arrived at views that are in harmony with what Nietzsche expressed in his writings: Thus Spoke Zarathustra, Beyond Good and Evil, On the Genealogy of Morals, and The Twilight of the Idols. The same sentiment is already reflected in my small book published in 1886, "Epistemology of Goethe's Worldview," as in the aforementioned works of Nietzsche.

This is why I felt compelled to draw a picture of Nietzsche's imaginative and emotional life. I believe that such a picture will be most akin to Nietzsche if it is created in accordance with his mentioned final steps.

Rudolf Steiner was an Austrian esotericist and philosopher. Based on his teachings, Waldorf education was developed, among other things. This book is an unaltered reprint of the long out-of-print original edition from 1895.
