Louis Creed moves with his wife Rachel, their two children, and their house cat Churchill to rural Maine. The country road in front of their house has claimed the lives of many pets over the years. Nearby, local children have created a cemetery for their beloved animals. However, deeper in the woods lies another graveyard, an old Native American burial site, whose eerie properties soon reveal themselves: after Churchill is hit by a truck and buried here, he returns to life. However, the cat is no longer the sweet cuddly pet that the children loved to snuggle with.
