How does the human organism present itself when one seeks to understand it in its functional connections, living wholes, and qualities? This question has occupied the author for decades. The insights he has reached through Goethe's phenomenological method are clearly described in this book and illustrated with outstanding drawings. Building on the functional structure of the human organism divided into three areas, all organ systems are described in their internal, tripartite functional dynamics, partly also incorporating phylogenetic developmental processes, and related to one another, making their essential characteristics and qualities perceptible.
