Product details
Frédéric Clot has developed a unique drawing and painting style as a self-taught artist – going against the current of established styles, primarily in black and white, oscillating between figuration and abstraction. In his paintings, etchings, and drawings, he evokes enigmatic places. Clot creates scenarios that seem to fully correspond to our time: they are abstract, elusive reminiscences of our present and reflect the broad communication in the digital age.
This richly illustrated publication is the first comprehensive monograph of the Swiss artist's entire body of work to date. It provides an overview of more than twenty years of artistic creation and is complemented by essays from art historian Karine Tissot, cultural journalist and art critic Françoise Jaunin, and London art critic JJ Charlesworth.
Frédéric Clot (*1973, Saint-Loup, Switzerland) divides his time between Ependes, a small village in the canton of Vaud, and Lisbon. His works are represented in numerous collections worldwide and are regularly exhibited in Switzerland and abroad.
