Frauenrechte sind Menschenrechte – weltweit

The discrimination against women in politics, economics, and society continues because structural inequality exists and is exacerbated by violence against women and ongoing prejudices. Do we want to wait another 100 years for equality? The hope of women is the implementation of the UN Agenda for Sustainable Development by 2030. The author analyzes how the situation of women worldwide has improved or worsened over the past 25 years since the World Conference on Women in Beijing in 1995. Twenty-five years after the World Conference on Women in Beijing, general progress can be noted in constitutions and laws. Nevertheless, structural discrimination against women persists. In 1995, a systemic transformation of global society and the world economy was called for to overcome discrimination. Yet, the legal situation worldwide remains very inadequate even today.
