Frauen, die sich einmischen

From ancient times to the present, men have shaped the image of politics and public space. But for just as long there have also been "women who interfere", who fall out of their assigned roles, shape society and often enough do so in resistance to the respective mainstream. The articles collected in this volume span a wide range from biblical Israel to 21st century Europe. The focus is on biblical studies that make clear how much the narratives are characterised by strong female figures. However, the glimpses into the history of reception also show that biblical figures have always encouraged women to go their own way.
