Product details

Heraclitus, known in antiquity as 'the Dark One', is one of the deepest thinkers of Greece. This edition compiles all the fragments attributed to him and aims to make them accessible to today's readers through as faithful a translation as possible. "This order of the world was not created by gods or men, but has always been, is, and will be: an ever-living fire, flaring up in measures and going out in measures. The turning of fire: first sea, of the sea one half land, the other flaming weather. The sea flows and fulfills its measure according to the same principle that applied before it became land." B 30, 31.
