Reworking of recent history. André Rauber has meticulously compiled facts and data on the communist movement in Switzerland and has created an interesting, comprehensive documentation from it. This extensive work was first published in French by Slatkin Publishing in Geneva. The German version is based on these two volumes and is illustrated with numerous images, tables, and graphics, as well as featuring over 200 short biographies. At the same time, this edition has been updated to reflect the latest research. Several archives only became accessible after 1991—a year that marked the definitive fall of the Eastern Bloc, the end of the Cold War, and a turning point that allowed for a new perspective on history. The newly discovered material has shed light on many issues, particularly regarding the conflicts within the labor movement.
