Born in New York, Lauren Elkin has lived in Paris since 2004 and has spent various periods in London, Venice, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. As an award-winning writer, critic, and translator, her essays have appeared in numerous publications, including The New York Times Book Review, The Guardian, TLS, The Wall Street Journal, and the Los Angeles Review of Books. She is a co-editor at The White Review.
