The Working Hours Act (ArbZG) limits daily working hours to protect health. However, for effective protection, working hours must be fully recorded. The judiciary has already imposed a corresponding obligation on employers, and the legislator must follow suit. The new basic commentary explains the current legal situation. At the same time, home office and mobile work are changing the understanding of standard working hours. Flexibility is desired.
