Product details
On the hunt for a murderer in South Tyrol: A crime novel with humor and charm. Impressive mountain peaks, gently rolling vineyards, and small towns and villages nestled in the valleys: We know South Tyrol as a picturesque holiday region. However, in Heidi Troi's crime story, it soon becomes clear that the idyllic setting is deceptive. Lorenz Lovis, in his mid-forties, a bachelor and dismissed officer of the State Police in Brixen, faces a difficult decision: Should he take over his late uncle's farm – with no experience as a farmer? But before he follows his new calling as a farmer, his investigative skills are needed: An unknown person throws butchered owls onto the property of Baron Carlo Cavagna. A silly prank or a sabotage act against Cavagna's controversial luxury hotel project? When a body is found in the baron's hunting lodge, things start to stir in the quiet Brixen valley.
- Entertaining regional crime novel for fans of Franz Eberhofer and Commissioner Kluftinger
- Exciting holiday reading: humorously and with a wink
- Clever and pragmatic: a sympathetic investigator figure as a South Tyrolean Matula
Setting in Brixen: The beginning of the crime series featuring private detective Lorenz Lovis. At first, Lorenz Lovis finds the idea of working as a private investigator bizarre: "I can already see the headlines: Private detective investigates murder case! When was the last murder here again?" But his curiosity is piqued, and he picks up the trail – albeit rather leisurely. And not without stumbling over every obstacle that presents itself. A bit self-ironic, a bit down-to-earth – Heidi Troi creates a highly likeable investigator who lacks nothing in the necessary intuition. The author is a native of South Tyrol and lives in Brixen, where she runs the theater education center she founded. She knows the locations of her crime series like the back of her hand.
