Roland Gerth has an eye for the beauty of the everyday. After the mountain waters and mountain forests, the renowned photographer has turned his attention to the mountain meadows, fascinating habitats for plants and animals. He has roamed through Switzerland in all seasons, capturing surprising images. For example, a sea of crocuses on the Chasseral in the Jura, the beauty of a mountain meadow in summer near Ardez in the Engadine, Edelweiss on the Segnesboden in the Surselva or nature's waiting for spring in the Lauterbrunnen Valley. These are images that inspire us to a microcosm, enlivened by flowers, grasses, beetles and insects worthy of protection, but also partly used by the inhabitants of the mountains from ancient times.
