Fast ein bisschen Frühling
German, Alex Capus, 2004Product details
Two unemployed lads, Kurt Sandweg and Waldemar Velte, travelled by sea from Wuppertal to India in the winter of 1933. They robbed a bank to get the money for their journey and accidentally shot the branch manager. On the run from their pursuers, they didn't get very far: in Basel, Kurt Sandweg fell in love with the record saleswoman Dorly Schupp. Day after day, he and his friend bought a tango record until the money ran out and the next bank robbery was necessary. Evening after evening, the three of them went for a walk along the Rhine. The young sporting goods saleswoman Marie Stifter, who would become the narrator's grandmother thirty years later and who had to choose between a bank robber and her fiancé, was also part of the party.
