Farbkameras in der Koordinatenmesstechnik

The application areas and requirements for optical coordinate measurement technology have grown significantly in recent years. In particular, the widespread availability of color cameras has led to a multitude of new opportunities and challenges. In this work, the author examines various algorithms for high-resolution measurement using color cameras. As a starting point, algorithms for edge location determination with subpixel resolution, which have already been tested in measurements with grayscale cameras, are used. The algorithms under investigation follow the approach of lossless conversion of multidimensional color information into one-dimensional intensity distributions. In the conversion process, color information is treated as vectors, and the changes in color and intensity between adjacent image points are calculated using appropriate vector operations. This approach avoids information loss and contradictions that can arise when color channels are considered separately. The work is aimed at engineers, computer scientists, and natural scientists working in the fields of image processing and measurement technology.
