Falsche Freunde

"Policewoman brutally beaten," the newspapers headline. Anna can't remember anything. She was in a coma for weeks and is now battling the aftereffects of a traumatic brain injury: her brain constantly replaces German words with those from foreign languages. The doctor advises Anna to train her brain, so she decides to learn German again: with the help of apps, conversations with acquaintances – and with Mario from the language café where she once learned Italian. The hub for migrants soon becomes significant for Anna in another way: a young woman has been murdered, and a note with strange words was found at the crime scene. A language puzzle? Her former boss at the criminal police asks Anna for help, and she soon discovers that the murder victim also wanted to learn German at the language café. When Anna repeatedly finds strange messages in front of her door and learns more about a missing person who also visited the café, she suspects that her struggle to relearn her mother tongue might involve more than just false friends... Can the sick-listed policewoman decipher the meaning of the messages and prevent another murder?.
