Although there are some scientific studies that have dealt with the influence of the Greek language on the German language, particularly in the lexical area, it is noticeable that none have addressed the Greek 'false friends' in the German vocabulary. I have focused my work on the clarification and description of the Greek 'false friends.' The work consists of two parts. In the first part, I primarily deal with the lexical influence of the Greek language on the German language. In the second part, I then exclusively focus on the Greek 'false friends' in the German vocabulary. At the beginning of this part, I present the project 'Learning Difficulties for Greek Students in the Area of 'False Friends.' This project highlights the significant difficulties that 'false friends' pose for students of Greek native language who are learning German through instruction. By creating a dictionary of Greek 'false friends' in the German vocabulary, I aim to contribute to the elimination of such difficulties.
