Faire Chancen?

The concept of integration refusal shapes the discourse around participation, recognition, and a specific self-image demanded by the majority society, which implies a socially adaptable identity. Notably, the criticism of integration refusal is, in most cases, not directed at the labor migrants of the 1950s, 60s, and 70s, but rather at the second and third generations of these population groups. Typically, this concerns young people with Turkish, Kurdish, and Arab migration backgrounds who find themselves subjected to this accusation. These are young individuals who have little connection to the country of their parents and grandparents, knowing it primarily from vacations at best. This raises the question of the causes of this integration refusal, which is particularly reflected in poorer educational records, is derived from them, and manifests in their ongoing life experiences.
