The textbook follows the learning fields of the KMK framework curriculum and the training regulations for the occupation of vehicle painter. It is suitable for teaching in vocational schools, in-company training, master craftsman training and for self-study.
The work is designed to be particularly student- and practice-oriented. It is characterized by its clear structure and easy-to-understand language. Elements such as bullet-point summaries, color-coded notes and numerous examples, also color-coded, facilitate learning. Particular importance was attached to the illustrations: Realistic photos from workshops, detailed illustrations, and clearly arranged diagrams and tables are clearly linked to the corresponding parts of the text via markers. The comprehensive subject index enables terms to be found quickly and establishes the connections between the chapters.
The chapters of the book correspond to the learning fields of the framework curriculum. An additional chapter at the end of the book summarizes cross-learning field content such as the classification of motor vehicles, occupational safety and environmental protection.
Each learning field chapter consists of three parts:
1. knowledge transfer
2. learning situation
3. exercises
The imparting of theoretical knowledge is followed by a comprehensive practical example: learning situations matching the learning field show everyday work in vehicle painting operations. Each learning situation covers all the work steps from order acceptance to handover to the customer. The final exercises serve to repeat and reinforce what has been learned.
