The selection of content and scope has primarily been determined with the aim of providing the necessary technical knowledge to two-wheeler mechatronics technicians and bicycle mechanics during their training in the workplace and vocational school. New in the 5th edition: The abbreviations for electrical quantities have been adapted to the notation of the Bicycle Technology reference book and standardized. The chapter on 'Technical Terms' has been revised and expanded, including a summary of commutator motors and a comparison of 'Synchronous Motor/Asynchronous Motor'. The chapter on 'Efficiency Improvement' describes Hairpin winding technology. The 5th edition has been completely revised and updated to reflect the current technical and legal standards. Calculation examples covering 'internal and external gear ratios, brake technology, and wheel size' complement the individual subject areas. A calculation example with current technical motor data enhances the revised collection of formulas.
