Exposures

How do we find our way in the world? In life? Locating ourselves and placing what we observe and experience is a unique form of navigation. It is based on our sensory impressions, primarily on what we see. What we see is colored, distorted, or sharpened by the passage of time, by what has been seen and experienced, which resides in the memory's image archive. We view the world in fragments, recognize underlying patterns, compare the newly discovered with what already exists, and identify similarities and differences. For nearly twenty years, Nadine Olonetzky has been placing found objects on pages in her notebook and allowing the sun to shine on them.
